Community Links – Paths and cycleways

Introduction

With funding support from Sustrans in 2019 a report was commissioned that highlighted a number of non motorised (walking, wheeling, cycling and horseback) routes that would provide recreational and commuting access within the Edinbane Communities The final report and route options can be downloaded below.

Edinbane Community Links Project Report v4 – lowres

Scope

The report highlights routes that will allow visitors and residents move around the area safely without having to use cars. A walk to work or the shop (once opene) or a cycle ride to the pub will provide healthier and non polluting ways to get around the community. Some of the routes are already recognised by Highland Council as “core paths’ which gives them a special status. Routes through the Coishletter and Greshornish forest, across the Edinbane Common Grazings offers some great trails for us all to enjoy wether we walk, ride horses or bicycles.
